Welcome

Welcome to Dylan Thomas Guided Tours. We provide personalised guided tours taking in the life, history and beautiful Welsh scenery associated with Dylan Thomas, the most famous Welsh poet.

During 2007, a BBC Film was produced called "The Edge of Love", Starring Keira Knightley as Vera Killick, Sienna Miller as Caitlin Thomas and Matthew Rhys as Dylan Thomas. The film centered on the 'reputed love triangle' (these are the words used by the BBC) between the three main characters. On our guided tours, we visit many of the scenes from the film including the Pier at New Quay, Laugharne, Lampeter, the site of Majoda - Dylan's home in New Quay between 1944 and 1945 and the Black Lion in New Quay, reputed to be one of Dylan's favourite "watering holes."

Whether you live in Wales or are visiting from other parts of the UK or overseas, our guided tours are a unique way of exploring the heritage of Dylan Thomas, his homes, his sources of inspiration and his favourite places.

From "In my Craft or Sullen Art"

"Not for the proud man apart
From the raging moon I write
On these spindrift pages
Nor for the towering dead
With their nightingales and psalms
But for the lovers, their arms
Round the griefs of the ages,
Who pay no praise or wages
Nor heed my craft or art."

From "Over Sir John's Hill"

"Over Sir John’s Hill
The hawk on the fire hangs still;
In a hoisted cloud, at drop of dusk, he pulls his claws
And gallows, up the rays of his eyes the small birds of the bay
And the shrill child’s play
Wars."
